Chicago flooring and remodeling services
An unfinished basement is one of the highest-leverage square footage opportunities in any home. Getting it usable — playroom, home office, gym, media room, in-law suite — typically adds resale value and immediate quality of life at a fraction of the cost of an addition.
We focus on the flooring and finish side of basement work: waterproof flooring (LVP, tile, or moisture-resistant carpet), trim and baseboard, finish painting, and coordination with framing, drywall, and plumbing trades when the project requires them. Moisture management is the make-or-break — we will not install a floor over a slab that has active water issues without addressing those first.
Every basement project starts with a moisture and slab inspection. If everything checks out, we build out the flooring and finish work. If there are moisture concerns, we will tell you what needs to happen first and connect you with the right trade partner.

How it works
We handle every step under one roof — no subcontractors, no project managers, no surprises mid-project.
We come to you, measure the space, and walk through your goals, timeline, and budget. No high-pressure pitch — just an honest read of what the project takes.
We bring samples or invite you to the showroom so you can see materials in person. Once you pick, we order through our distributor network so you get dealer pricing.
We schedule installation around your calendar, confirm prep details (furniture moving, old material removal, subfloor checks), and lock in start and finish dates.
Our team handles the install start to finish. No subcontractors. Site is kept clean during the work, and we communicate every day if the project takes more than one day.
We do a final walkthrough together to make sure every transition, edge, and detail meets your expectations before we call the job done.

Frequently asked
Flooring-only basement projects (waterproof LVP or carpet on a finished space) typically run $5 to $10 per square foot installed. Full finish projects with framing, drywall, electrical, and flooring run $30 to $80 per square foot. We focus primarily on the flooring and finish side and coordinate with trades on full builds.
Luxury vinyl plank is usually the right pick — fully waterproof, comfortable underfoot with the right underlayment, and forgiving on uneven slabs. Tile is the most durable option but cold underfoot. Moisture-resistant carpet over the right pad is also common for family room conversions. Laminate is generally not recommended due to moisture risk.
Sometimes — but the moisture has to be addressed first. We do a slab moisture test at the estimate. If the slab is wet, we will tell you what needs to happen (interior drainage, vapor barriers, sump improvements) before flooring goes down. Skipping this step ruins basement floors within 1-3 years.
Yes. Most basement flooring installations include a vapor barrier or moisture-resistant underlayment. We pick the right barrier based on the moisture test results and the flooring type.
Not recommended. Concrete slabs are cold and can wick moisture, which leads to mildew and pad failure over time. We recommend a moisture-resistant subfloor system (or appropriate underlayment) under any soft flooring in basements.
A flooring-only basement install typically completes in two to four days depending on square footage. Full finish projects with framing and drywall run four to eight weeks coordinated with trades.
Yes. Basement stairs are usually carpeted for safety and quietness, though LVP or wood-look stair nosing is an option. We do stair installation as part of basement projects.
Yes. Financing is available on qualifying basement projects. Final terms are confirmed at the in-home estimate.
